For The Families Who Show Up When It Matters Most

Foster and kinship families carry a weight few people see — and a child in care who goes missing faces dangers the numbers make impossible to ignore. Protect Our Family was built, in part, by foster parents, for this exact reason.

The truth the system doesn’t advertise

Over 70% of active open reports on missing children are connected with the foster care system.

In 2025, of the 32,167 worked missing-child cases by the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children 23,348 — nearly three out of four — were children missing from foster care. And a federal audit found that almost half of those disappearances were never reported to the national center at all. Children in care are more likely to go missing, and less likely to be looked for the right way. Being prepared isn’t optional here. It’s protection.

How it helps a foster family specifically

Every child in your care can have a complete, current, forensic-grade profile ready in advance — proper photos, physical details, medical and behavioral needs — so that if a child goes missing, a full, accurate report and poster are ready in about 90 seconds, not lost hours. Critical conditions travel with the child, flagged for first responders. And because their information is encrypted and never sold, you protect a vulnerable child’s privacy at the same time you protect their safety.

In order to help foster families have some information that can be used to help find these minors, we are offering this service at no out of pocket cost as long as you stay updated. We are making this as simple of a process as we can. You upload your current license for fostering, we verify that it is not expired and we set your account to our highest tier. Before your license expires, we will send you a reminder, and you simply upload the new license. That’s it. You and your entire household, including children not in the foster system, are covered. We feel this is mission critical.
